Mission Statement

My goal is to share my passion for yoga as I travel throughout the U.S. and abroad.  It is an exciting journey and a blessing to meet like-minded souls on this path!

I have experience as a studio owner and have taught classes, private/group classes, workshops, teacher trainings and retreats over the last 21 years. I will ensure safe practices that elevate your experience, with thoughtful sequencing and hands-on adjustments.

My classes combine both the physical and spiritual aspects of the yoga tradition. I employ a mix of alignment-based asana, meditation and breath work to cultivate greater awareness in the physical body and beyond. I believe in the transformative powers of yoga and have experienced firsthand its ability to help us slow down and truly see the beauty in each and every thing, and in every person and situation.

About Debra

It was back in 1999 when a friend said to me, ‘I just did a yoga class, and it was the hardest thing I ever did! You HAVE to come with me!’ My first thought was - That sounds HORRIBLE! She was an athlete, and I was, well, NOT. A few days later I attended my first class at Power Yoga Works in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The temperature in the studio was about 90 degrees. The students were experienced. The class was fast paced. I had no clue what I was doing. But by the end of the class, resting flat on my back, I had never felt so good.

So, I found myself there every Saturday morning. Within two years, I completed my first Yoga Teacher Training and became a full-time teacher one year later. I found that I lost the doubt and insecurity that comes along with the limitations of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. The freedom that the practice brings to my life is empowering. Having faced adversity physically has allowed me the confidence to present yoga to all shapes and sizes, all levels of ability from brand new beginner to tri-athlete. There is no one way to practice. There is YOUR way, and it is liberating!

I am thrilled to bring the beauty of yoga to the world. Yoga has enhanced my life in countless ways, and I am honored to share it with you.

My education includes two 200-hour teacher trainings, a 500-hour YTT, Yoga Therapy certification, and several other 50-hour training programs such as yoga for chronic pain relief, depression, and anxiety. My primary teacher and mentor is Yoganand Michael Carroll, the founder of Pranakriya Yoga, who I am so blessed to know. Under his direction, I have learned the true meaning of yoga.

I hope you all will Feel Free to Feel Free in this beautiful life we have been given!

Class Descriptions

Slow Flow is a flow style practice with long holding postures which establish a solid understanding of alignment and safety. All classes offer a well-balanced, eclectic blend of various styles of yoga, the classes move dynamically with constant attention to breath.

Vinyasa (Athletic Yoga) Is a challenging class which requires some experience. Proper form and understanding of alignment are essential as variations of postures are more challenging. Come with an open heart and leave your competitive mind at the door!

Gentle Stretch Yoga is a great way to begin a practice! The practice consists of gentle flowing movements designed to improve the health of the joints while developing muscular strength. All of this cultivates improved balance and stability.

 Pranayama~ Breathing Practice ~

Yoga breathing, which is known as Pranayama, is the first step toward re-orienting and improving the functioning of your body by learning to optimize the breathing process. All classes incorporate breathing techniques to maximize the benefits of a complete yoga practice.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is designed to restore and renew the body by releasing tension and stress. Holding tension in the body can cause damage over time. Likewise, anxiety and mental stress can lead to       'dis-ease' in the mind. Restorative Yoga is a perfect complement to a challenging yoga practice and active lifestyle. This class is appropriate for all levels of experience and a nice option for those looking for a prenatal style class.
